Lunch of Honor

Hudson Valley Honor Flight’s 2016 Lunch of Honor was held November 20th at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor.  Attended by Veterans who have flown from both Stewart International Airport and Westchester County Airport, there were somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 or more there.  It was a beautiful and enjoyable afternoon of praise and thanks to our Veterans.  Music provided by The Big Band Sound throughout the day.  Some members of Post 386 were there, too.  Here are a few pictures from the event.

The Big Band Sound provided wonderful music throughout the afternoon.  We heard the music of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and more.  It was great!
Post 386 Past Commander Jim Peloso, an Honor Flight Alumni from Mission 1,000 was in attendance.
Post 386 Officer of the Day, Sal Foti and his bride MaryAnn were also there to enjoy the food and music.
Our newly installed 3rd Vice Cmdr. George Reilly and Don Plunkett were on hand to enjoy the festivities, too.
Our 2nd Vice Cmdr. Steve Delgado with his Mom and Dad.  His Dad, a Korea War Veteran flew Hudson Valley Honor Flight Mission 1,000.
Two of our members in attendance were Sen. Bill Larkin and MSgt. Mary Kay Messenger, who’s beautiful voice was also featured this afternoon.
A continuous slide show loop featured pictures from some of the recent Honor Flights.
Throughout the slideshow, sponsors were also featured.  And here we are, proudly represented.
Also in the slideshow was a photo of us on the day we went to welcome home our Veterans from the last flight at Stewart.
Another Honor Flight Alumni, Adam Kranak is a World War II Veteran and retired Police Chief of Spring Valley, NY.
